Feverfew is a famed herb for women, as a tonic for the uterus and ovaries. Venus is said to command this herb.
Menstrual Cramps - Feverfew is used for difficulties with the menstrual cycle, particularly helpful for discomfort and delayed moontime. Because Feverfew has been shown to reduce prostaglandin production, it can be helpful in easing menstrual cramps.
Also helpful for prevention of miscarriage, to help in difficult labour and retention of afterbirth, plus for infertility.
Congestion, asthma and bronchial infections - The soothing ability of feverfew also extends to the respiratory tract,
where this herb is able to reduce inflammation and irritation, which can
often exacerbate conditions like asthma or coughing. By allowing the
respiratory tracts to relax, it can help soothe these symptoms and
improve overall respiratory health.
Rheumatoid Arthritis & Pain - Because of its anti-inflammatory
properties, feverfew has shown the potential to help with symptoms of
rheumatoid arthritis. One study found that parthenolide, one of
the compounds in feverfew, was able to lessen the severity of joint
destruction.
For thousands of years, feverfew has been used to prevent pain
throughout the body, not just the pain of headaches and migraines.
Following surgery or an injury, it can be successfully utilized for
rapid and long-lasting relief.
To make a tea - Use 1 teaspoon of dried herb per cup of boiling water and steep for 5-10 minutes depending on taste. Add a teaspoon of honey if you prefer and drink 2-3 times a day.
